Building the Green Economy: Lakehead University Presents Speaker Kevin Danaher - Everyone Welcome
Tomorrow evening, students, faculty, staff, and community members gather in Lakehead University’s UC0050 (near the Agora) to hear Dr. Kevin Danaher, Executive Director of the Global Citizen Center, speak at Lakehead University’s 2009 Speaker Series. The Speaker Series is hosted in conjunction with the University’s 2009 Research and Innovation Week.
Dr. Danaher is the author and/or editor of numerous books, including his latest (co-authored with Shannon Biggs and Jason Mark), Building the Green Economy: Success Stories from the Grass Roots.

Lakehead Graduate Students Show Their Talent
The top three presentations in each of three categories will be recognised. The categories are the Natural Science and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC), and the Canadian Institute of Health Research (CIHR). One prize will be awarded to the best Aboriginal-themed research project.

Thunderwolves Hockey Defeats Waterloo Warriors - Team Advances to Playoffs
In a cliffhanger game that left everybody on the edge of their seats, the Thunderwolves hockey team defeated the Waterloo Warriors in the OUA quarter-finals to advance to the next round of the playoffs. Next up are the Laurier Golden Hawks in the best of three OUA Western Conference semi-finals. The only home game of the series (played in Thunder Bay) is on Wednesday, February 25, at the Fort William Gardens. Game time is 7:30 p.m., and a free student bus leaves the Agora Circle at 6:30 p.m. Playoff tickets are available only through the Gardens box office.
