Lakehead University and the Access Copyright Agreement

After careful assessment, Lakehead University has joined the majority of Canadian universities in signing the Licence Agreement negotiated between the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada and the copyright collective, Access Copyright.  In our view the Agreement, while not ideal, has positive features and, on balance, serves the best interests of the University—especially our students, faculty and staff—at this time.

During the course of this Agreement, which concludes in 2015, Lakehead will be carefully evaluating authoritative interpretations of the new Copyright Act and the advantages and disadvantages of alternative arrangements for obtaining copyright permissions and protecting the University and its community from infringement of copyright law.

Orillia Campus: Next SOS Series Event Takes Place Tuesday, July 3

The next event in the Summer of Sustainability (SOS) series features the Oscar-nominated documentary, Winged Migration, followed by a discussion with biologist Linda Sober.

Monday to Wednesday: 8:30 am to 8 pm
Thursday & Friday: 8:30 am to 5 pm
Saturday: 12 to 4 pm
Sunday, July 8 and 15: 4 to 8 pm

NOTE: The Education Library will be closed Sunday, July 22.
