New Marketing Support Manager: Frances Harding

Lakehead University would like to congratulate Frances Harding on her new position as Manager, Marketing Support.

Frances has been an integral part of Lakehead’s former Department of Communications and is now taking on a new role reflecting the importance of marketing and branding in today’s competitive university sector. As the head of Marketing Support, all graphics, photography and editing staff will report directly to her. Frances will lead initiatives to build Lakehead’s brand internally and externally as well as continue to create high-quality print and online publications that effectively showcase Lakehead’s many achievements.

Communications has been reorganized into two new departments – Marketing Support and Media Relations. The Marketing Support unit will report to the Vice-President, External Relations, Deb Comuzzi.


New Active U Summer Camp - Spaces Still Available

There is still time to reserve your child's spot in Lakehead's Active U summer camp!

Active U is a fun-based day camp for grades 4 - 6 children that uses recreational and educational programming in a diverse setting at Lakehead University. The program aims at boosting participants' self-confidence and social skills through inclusive physical activity and interactive educational activities.

REMINDER: Office of Human Resources (Health and Safety) Testing Warning Sirens - Friday, July 6

As part of our ongoing Emergency Preparedness Plan, Lakehead University will be testing warning sirens on Friday, July 6, between 1:30 - 4:00 pm.

During this time, our sirens will go off intermittently. Please be aware that their sound may be quite loud around the following buildings and parking lot: 

  • Bora Laskin
  • Chancellor Paterson Library
  • 1294 Balmoral
  • C.J. Sanders Fieldhouse
  • Parking Lot #5

 

As this is only a test of our safety equipment, it is not necessary to initiate lock-down procedures.

REMINDER: Designated Smoking Areas

Please be aware that smoking is not permissible in any Lakehead University-owned or leased buildings (including all residence facilities), nor anywhere on University property except for designated smoking areas.

Anyone found to be in violation of this policy will be fined $100.00.
