Office of Aboriginal Initiatives Cultivates Networking Opportunities among Aboriginal Employees

For the first time ever, Lakehead University's Office of Aboriginal Initiatives is pleased to extend a warm invitation to all Aboriginal faculty and staff (either Status or Non-Status) to a Meet-and-Greet reception to be held December 15. 

Whether you have a strong traditional background or are just starting to explore your Aboriginal heritage, you are encouraged to attend this networking opportunity, which provides a forum for Aboriginal faculty and staff to meet one another on both professional and personal levels while exploring professional collaborations, establishing connections, and renewing acquaintances.

Business Students Qualify for Final ICBC Round

Faculty of Business Administration students have once again performed very well in the preliminary round of the Queen's Intercollegiate Business Competition (ICBC). This competition has been called the Stanley Cup of Undergraduate Business Schools.  The preliminary round attracted 150 submissions from 28 universities across Canada and internationally. Faculty of Business Administration participants in the preliminary round of the ICBC competition were:

Accounting: Mark Clements and Elena Harding
Business Policy: Michael Gilles, Aaron Leblanc, and Chris Galluci
Ethics: Seija Makelainen and Kimberly Stajkowski
Finance: Corissa Hanson and Kady Stachiw
Human Resources: Meghan King and Kiirsti Rathje
Marketing: Marc Skaf and Isaac Morgado

This year, two teams from the Faculty of Business Administration have qualified for the final round, to be held in January 2010 at Queen's University. Elena Harding and Mark Clements have qualified to compete in the final round in Accounting, and Isaac Morgado and Marc Skaf have qualified to compete in Marketing.
