Participate in Take Our Kids to Work Day

Lakehead University has planned a fun and educational program of activities for Grade 9 students for Take Our Kids to Work Day on November 6, which includes job shadowing in the afternoon.

Pre-registration to the event is required by November 1. If you're a parent, guardian or family friend of a Grade 9 student who will be bringing a child to work, please register your child by completing the general liability waiver and emailing it to human.resources@lakeheadu.ca. Please indicate if the student has any food allergies and their t-shirt size!

Lakehead University takes safety very seriously. Please note that due to safety concerns, students are not permitted to access laboratories, studios, mechanical/electrical areas, nor partake in hazardous activities or be exposed to hazards.

Pension Information Session - Wednesday, Nov. 6

There will be a Pension Information Session held on Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. in OA 3007 by videoconference.

The sessions will be hosted by Clint Mason, Manager of Pension Services.

The sessions will cover the different types of pensions, information specific to Lakehead University’s pension, and retirement options available to pension members, as well as answering any questions attendees may have about Lakehead University’s pensions.

Lump Sum Additional Voluntary Pension Contributions Deadline

Please be advised that Friday, Nov. 15 is the final day that pension plan members will be able to make lump sum additional voluntary contributions to their pension plan in 2019.

Pension plan members are encouraged to consider making these contributions through regular payroll deduction.
