Construction Update: Scheduled Power Outage - Wednesday, Oct. 23

On Wednesday, Oct. 23, construction crews - in coordination with Lakehead Physical Plant staff - will shut down the power to the CJ Sanders Fieldhouse and the Hangar buildings commencing from approximately 8 am to 10 am to install a data logger on the main power system.

This data logger is being installed to compile electrical consumption data required by the consulting engineering team and will remain in place for seven days. After this time period has elapsed, we will schedule another power outage to remove the equipment; a full update will be distributed upon confirmation of that day and time so you can plan in advance.

During this time, the buildings will be closed completely to all faculty, staff, students, and the general public; doors will remain locked and signage posted at all entrances.

If you have any questions please contact Hugh Briggs, Director, Physical Plant, at hbriggs@lakeheadu.ca or (807) 343-8790.

YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN SOMEONE'S LIFE

Lakehead University’s Office of Aboriginal Initiatives and the Aboriginal Mentorship Program (AMP) are proud to be launching our 7th year of Indigenous youth mentorship.

AMP matches experienced university students with Indigenous youth to create a positive connection that will inspire and assist elementary/high school students from across the region in learning about post-secondary educational opportunities available to them.

AMP is actively looking for university student volunteers to become our mentors for the 2019-2020 academic year.

This opportunity is open to all Lakehead University students across all disciplines on the Thunder Bay campus. Volunteer hours can be recorded and entered onto your co-curricular record.

If you are a graduate student, third or fourth year undergrad, or a PhD student with an interested in mentoring and a little time to spare through out the year please contact:

Lisa Harris, AMP Coordinator, at  amp@lakeheadu.ca  or phone at 343-8528.
