PACI library elevator back in service

Please be advised that the elevator in PACI's library has returned to service.


Notice of Meeting: Professional Pension Plan and Lakehead University Employee Pension Plan – Friday, Dec. 6

The Pension Board for the Professional Plan and the Advisory Committee for the Lakehead University Employee Pension Plan (LUEPP) continuously monitor the operations and performance of Lakehead University’s pension plans.

All members of both pension plans are invited to attend a presentation by investment advisor Proteus Performance on Friday, December 6, 2019 starting at 9 am in Conference Room A of Bartley Residence.

Orillia campus attendees can view the presentations by video conference in OA 2005.

Investment managers will provide an update on market performance and the market outlook for the near future.

• 10:00 - 11:00 am, Letko Brosseau
• 11:00 - 12:00 pm, Dimensional Fund Advisors
• 12:00 – 1:00 pm, Lunch
• 1:00 - 4:00 pm, Joint Pension Meeting

Guests are also welcome to attend the regular pension meeting at 1:00 pm, although the Pension Board and Advisory Committee reserve the right to go “in camera” at any time.

Payroll Year-end 2019 - Early cut-offs

All payrolls for the year 2019 will be completed by Friday, December 13, 2019 to allow for system year-end closing and the set-up and processing of the first pay of 2020 before the university closure between December 24, 2019 and January 1, 2020 inclusive.

If you have any outstanding payroll-related items to be paid or adjusted in 2019, please forward to, or contact Human Resources or Payroll no later than Thursday, December 5, 2019.  Items received after this date cannot be guaranteed to be paid in 2019 and may not be included in calendar year 2019 for T4 reporting purposes.

A detailed schedule including cut-offs for timecard entry and approval can be found here - 2019 Lakehead University Payroll Year-end Cut-off Schedule.  Payroll related items received after the dates on the cut-off schedule are not guaranteed payment in 2019.

Teaching Support Award - Nomination Deadline - December 15

Nominations are now open for the new Teaching Support Award. Lakehead University’s Teaching Support Award recognizes the support provided for teaching by employees of the university. One award will be given annually.
