Student Feedback on Teaching 2019-20 – Method Preference Selection Now Available for Instructors

The Student Feedback on Teaching (SFT) management form is now open for instructors to indicate their survey method preferences for their scheduled courses.

By accessing the form, instructors can change their preferred method from the default of online administration to paper administration. Choices can be customized for each course section the instructor teaches.

In 2018, the SFT management form moved to MyInfo, replacing the former ‘Opt-Out’ form in MyInfo. The current SFT Management form is found in the same location within MyInfo under For Faculty / Academic Profile, or by visiting this page

Following the first collection period for the 2019-20 academic year in August and September, the SFT management form is now open again from Monday, Jan. 6 until Saturday, Jan. 25 for preference selection for year-long and winter term courses.

The SFT management form is consistent with the April 2013 Senate decision; the default option in the new SFT management form will continue to be online survey administration. Instructors can continue to opt-out of the online survey administration annually using the SFT management form in MyInfo at the beginning of the fall/ winter academic terms.

There are no changes to the policy on Student Feedback on Teaching at Lakehead University, the SFT survey, current paper and online administration procedures, or results distribution and storage procedures.

Instructors who have questions about the SFT process including the Student Feedback on Teaching Management form can contact Sarah Prouty, Survey Specialist (Institutional Planning and Analysis) at surveys.ipa@lakeheadu.ca or 807-343-8734.

Nominations are now open for the 2020 Indigenous Partnership Research Award!

The Office of Aboriginal Initiatives would like to celebrate the partnerships between Lakehead University researchers and Indigenous communities and organizations by offering an annual award for Indigenous Partnership Research.

In the past, research has often been on Indigenous people(s), rather than with Indigenous people(s). Lakehead University believes that research partnerships that benefit both the researcher(s) and the Indigenous community are most likely to lead to more productive relationships with, and improved conditions for, Indigenous communities.

The Lakehead University Indigenous Partnership Research Award will be jointly awarded to a Lakehead University researcher or research team and a representative from their Indigenous partner(s), be it an individual, community or organization. The award consists of a certificate and a $500 cheque, one for researchers and one for the Indigenous partner.

Please see www.lakeheadu.ca/indigenous/ai-tb/call-for-nominations for more information and nomination form. Nominations are due January 31, 2020.
