Staff Award for Outstanding Performance and/or Contributions

Nominations are being accepted for the Award to Staff for Outstanding Performance and/or Contributions. This award recognizes and rewards outstanding performance and contributions to the University by a non-faculty employee.

The Award to Staff Policy can be referenced on this web page, which outlines eligibility, selection criteria, and nomination guidelines. If you are interested in nominating an eligible employee, please complete the nomination form here and recognize your colleague for the exceptional work they do.

Nominations are due no later than Sunday, Mar. 1 to the Office of Human Resources.


TSC Maintenance – Service Interruption (filecluster) - Feb. 14 to 17

The Technology Services Centre (TSC) will be performing maintenance between 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 14 to 8 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 17, to address current issues with the university's main file share.

Access to personal or departmental shares and files stored on the filecluster will be unavailable during this time. Users may be required to reboot their systems to re-connect to their shares after this outage.

Enrolment Services Hosting 3rd Annual Admin Workshop

Enrolment Services invites you to attend our 3rd Annual Admin Workshop, on Thursday, Feb. 20 from 2 to 4 p.m. A few of the topics that will be covered at the workshop are: Marks Management, Gateway Support, curriculum navigator, and scheduling!

Location will be provided upon registration.

Spring/Summer Work Study Portal Open to Lakehead Employers

The Lakehead University Work Study Program (LUWSP-SS) provides full-time employment to eligible undergraduate students during the spring/summer. These positions provide students with a valuable opportunity to work with, and be mentored by, Lakehead University faculty and staff.

The subsidy will cover up to $2,250 in wages and payroll deductions and is based on 480 hours and 16 weeks worked (30 hrs/wk for 16 weeks).

Employers may complete a Job Request application by logging in as an “Employer” or “Staff & Faculty” via the MySuccess portal for the month of February. Applications submitted after the deadline will be considered as space permits.

Senate Standing Committee Faculty Nominations

The Senate Nominations Committee is welcoming nominations from full-time faculty members at the Orillia and Thunder Bay campuses to fill upcoming vacancies on the Senate Standing Committees.

These vacancies are self nominated. Please click here for more information or to access the interest to serve form.

The deadline for nomination submissions is Thursday, Feb. 27 by 12 p.m.

Performance Evaluations Due May 15

Please be advised that completed performance evaluations for all non-union staff, including Schedule II, Technical and Contract Staff are due to the Office of Human Resources by Friday, May 15.
