Instructional Development Centre Brown Bag Lunch Series

Event Date: 2005-11-09

Henry Giroux has said that pedagogy should not be a “set of ready-made practices,” but rather should be the subject of continual reflection, interrogation, and, when appropriate, change and renewal. The Brown Bag Lunch Series is designed to provide an opportunity for such reflection, a forum for faculty and graduate students to get together to talk about teaching; to share ideas and innovations, celebrate successes, bemoan frustrations, and recall and exchange their experiences as teachers, whether they’ve been at it for years or are just starting out.

The topic for the first lunch will be “What Are They Really Learning?” Join your colleagues in sharing strategies for delineating and achieving the goals of your course and monitoring student learning and retention. This lunch will take place on Wednesday, November 9 at noon in the Little Dining Room. Bring your lunch and join your colleagues for some stimulating discussion. If you have any questions, please contact Dr. Gillian Siddall, Director, Instructional Development Centre at 343-8440 or
